La Vida Liverpool – Cavern Gig 30th July

A huge Sunday showcase of The Beatles is coming to The Cavern Club on Sunday 30th July! After a seven month break touring the country and beyond, Liverpool’s first and longest standing Beatles tribute, Made In Liverpool, are returning to the iconic venue where they held a weekly residency for 13 years.

Back by popular demand, Made In Liverpool have developed a cult-like following amongst Cavern Club lovers. Originally formed in 1980 as The Fab Four, the band made a name for themselves at the legendary She Club as the premier Beatles tribute act, before playing at The Cavern Club in 1984 and thousands of times over the years.

Now, over 40 years since their formation, they return to their home turf after some time away from the venue playing all sorts of gigs — from weddings to theatres to corporate events. From 7.30pm on Sunday 30th July, the supremely talented tribute act are looking to pack out The Cavern Club yet again and show fans that they are showing no sign of slowing down!

The band now consists of original founder Richie Wynne and his brother Mike, alongside Richie’s son Lee and Andy Gill. A well oiled machine, they have performed to huge audiences across the globe including throughout Europe and for the likes of Liverpool FC and international cruise ships.

The much anticipated return to The Cavern Club on Sunday 30th July will no doubt see a packed out main room once again, as the family run re-incarnation of The Beatles bring all the hits and the energy that’s entertained fanatics for years. On the night they will be supported by another family member, the extremely gifted loop pedal artist, ‘one-man jukebox’ John Wynne.

Like John, Paul, George and Ringo Made in Liverpool are all Liverpudlians and they naturally sound like The Beatles. Their shows attract a regular following from Beatles fans throughout the world and recent performances have been as far afield as Norway, Australia, Switzerland, Europe and the Far East.

Founder Richie, who plays John Lennon, said: “It’s no easy feat to recreate the timeless sound of The Beatles, however Made in Liverpool’s Beatles performance is unique and mind blowing, the show has an electric atmosphere and is not to be missed! I’ve lost count of how many times we’ve played at The Cavern over the years and this is one of the longest times away in years, so it feels great to come ‘home’.”

After playing there countless times since 1984, Made In Liverpool held a weekly Thursday residency from 2010, as well as playing weekend gigs there. Recent bookings have called for big gigs further afield, including a forthcoming tour of Northern Ireland, but the band feel as excited as ever to be playing back on Mathew Street once again.

Richie summarised: “It has felt rather strange, having played there consistently for many years. We love performing everywhere but you just can’t beat The Cavern Club — there’s no place quite like it. We’re thoroughly looking forward to the Sunday night showcase and to have our eldest son John support us too — it’s going to be very special and we’re going to put on a show and a half!”

Made In Liverpool are returning to the iconic Cavern Club on Mathew Street on Sunday 30th July 2023 from 7.30pm after a seven month break touring the UK and beyond. The band are Liverpool first ever and longest standing Beatles tribute band and have played at the venue thousands of times over the decades.
